Wyld Wood Family Camp

Secret woodland location in Kent

A family friendly off-grid camping weekend nestled within a secret woodland

* Bushcraft *Forest School * Wild Swimming * Camp Fire * Nature Walks *  Tree Climbing *

Join us in the Wyld Wood for a weekend of wild camping and camp fires, and complete freedom for your young ones to explore, develop, create, imagine and grow.

From the moment you arrive at our secret woodland location, hidden away from roads and villages, beneath a canopy of trees, the magic begins.

Put up your tent and settle in, then join your neighbours around the camp-fire and begin to relax.

Experience the thrill of camping in the wild – no shower blocks, no electricity, no running water! Don’t worry, we have compost toilets and plenty of solar lighting to keep us comfortable. Bring everything you need, and take everything away at the end.

Join us in the Woods!

‘Still buzzing from our weekend in the woods. It was the long awaited break we had needed, and totally perfect for 6 year old Fred. It’s going to be tricky to find ways of giving this much freedom to our boy again but definitely what’s needed for kids to grow and be happy.’ ~ Mandy

Sunday BBQ

Bring your tasty treats along to the Sunday BBQ by the lake.

We provide a veggie and a non veggie BBQ and coal – you do the rest!

Bring food to share with your fellow wild campers, have a dip in the lake, sit among the wild flowers and relax the afternoon away.

Willow Bushcraft

We can’t wait for our new friends at Willow Bushcraft to join this year.

A love of the outdoors, and old country skills has led Lisa to qualify as a Bushcraft practitioner. Willow Bushcraft is the product of years of experience in outdoor activities and working with children. Supported by her husband and two youngest boys, they will provide a family orientated session pitched for all levels of experience.

Through Willow Bushcraft Lisa will provide quality skills instruction for families through a series of hour long sessions, based around fire lighting using a variety of traditional and man-made methods, followed up with some backwoods cooking.

She will be based in her secret camp deep in the woods… will you find her?

Circus Skills

Sweet Circus love to bring their aerial hoop and ground skills workshop kit out to play. They will be bringing both this year, offering aerial hoop taster sessions and guided play with a whole range of circus kit.

We will be wild camping in a woodland. There are glades and areas under the trees suitable for one or two tents, as well as a large clearing with the camp fire for those who want to be nearer the action.

Leave No Trace

There are no bins and waste collection on site – this is a woodland in the middle of nowhere! Please leave your camp as leafy and unspoiled as you found it, and take away everything that you brought with you. If you are bringing alcohol – consider bringing plastic bottles instead of glass so that you can carry it home more easily.

Last year we did not find a single piece of litter in the woods after the event – you guys rock! Let’s make it the same this year.

Our lovely tree bog toilets are still standing! Composting toilets and portaloos are available, and for those who don’t mind a wild wee, there are a few trees dotted around the place!

There is no running water on site. Please bring enough water for you and your family, including washing yourselves.

Driving and Parking

We will send directions nearer the time to ticket holders.

There is limited parking on site, which may be on a track or on grass. Parking is not more than a 5 minute walk from the camping areas. And we offer wheelbarrows to those who have bell tent cities to put up!

Please only bring one car per family.

Nearby Supermarkets

The nearest supermarket is the large Sainsburies in Ashford, a 15 minute drive away. We discourage guests from leaving the site once parked up as it distracts from the peace and quiet of the woodland, and increases the damage done to grass and tracks.
